So this is a prompt I received through my form (it was Anon so sorry I can’t credit whoever sent it- Please claim the credit if you want to!). I’ve tried to plan it but I really don’t like horror (to the point where I can’t even watch the videos mentioned in the prompt) so I don’t think I’m the best person for it but didn’t want it to sit on my spreadsheet since it is so detailed.
I could possibly write a version with a happier ending but I don’t think that’s what they were going for in this genre lol
If anyone else wants to pick it up so that the prompter can have a chance to have it written I’d really appreciate it :)
Anyway here’s the prompt below the cut [T/W for violence typical of the Scream series]-
Azutara - Scream. A modern, nonbending AU inspired by the opening of the original film (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAljIe5WTG8,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT-ix3v3zzU,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9edRY7Cth-E) with Azula as Casey and Katara as Steve (though with their own personalities, so Azula wouldn’t be so hysterical and panicked).
The slasher’s costume will be a black robe like Ghostface’s, but the mask will be the skull faceplate from the original show.
Azula manages to answer the questions correctly while following Katara’s eye movements to see where the slasher is hiding. When it sounds like the Slasher is building up to something over the phone, Azula opens the outside door and uses one of her father’s guns (a pistol hidden in the kitchen cabinet that she had secretly gotten earlier) to shot the slasher.
After making sure they won’t get up (but they are secretly alive, just shocked, due to the bulletproof vest they were wearing underneath, They were also stunned by hitting their head on the house wall), she goes to untie Katara, who’s trying to tell her through her gag that there’s another slasher.
This one attacks Azula, ramming into her and knocking her onto the floor, causing the gun to fall into the pool, and manages to stab her in the stomach. They prepare to kill her, but then they all hear police sirens.
Azula had used a second, secret phone only herself, and Katara knew about to text Sokka, telling him to call the police and tell them what was happening).
The texts:
This is Azula
me+Kat at my house
someone’s trying to kill us
Call cops
NOT A PRANK!!!
Panicking, the slasher stabs Azula in the chest and runs to get their friend, who’s waking up. They run off into the night, leaving Katara tied to a chair and Azula bleeding out.
Cut to a few days later in the hospital, where Azula’s condition has stabilised. She and Katara are told that the slashers still haven’t been found. Katara receives a call from someone who claims to be a true crime podcaster, who asks her for details about what happened. She refuses, remembering that the police asked her not to talk to the media as it could compromise the investigation. The caller is disappointed, asking if she couldn’t give them a few details before they go into those details, revealing themselves to be the slasher (Katara having not gotten a call from them before). They mockingly apologise for not giving her as much attention as Azula, and tells them they’ll be plenty of time to make up for it later.
So wanted to share an idea for a fic that I will probably never get round to writing, hopefully it entertains someone in this form haha
The idea basically is that Team Avatar from before the end of Book 3 (I’m thinking before the Day of Black Sun) end up in the future because of the spirit shenanigans.
They find older versions of themselves in the post-war world and Katara is pregnant so they naturally try to figure out who she ended up with and whose baby it is.
Because of a bad reaction from the younger Gaang, Azula agreed to stay away from them until they figure out how to send them back to where they should be.
Naturally, before they get very far, Katara goes into labour and demands that someone gets Azula and reveals the truth that they have been hiding.
Cut to shocked younger Team Avatar while the older ones are freaking out about the labour lol
I’m kind of bored right now so does anyone have any Azutara questions (either about the ship in general or one of my fics) they want to send over?
I only ask because these kinds of things usually give me motivation for writing so no worries if not :)
