Another Day, Another Visit
Apple wanted to see how they were doing for herself. David is still grieving. Everyone else is doing better, so there could only be one thing. “Maple, I hear there is supposed to be a vow renewal? I’m not getting any younger.” Maple rattled off a few excuses. The truth was she was just tired…tired of everything.
“Look, let me watch the kids and you two go out for a little date and start making some plans.”

Any new prospects, son?
Apple wants her son to find love and he seems to be taking his time. “You aren’t getting any younger.” Elijah was so confused. “Uhh, what do you mean, Ma?”
“I mean, have you talked to Geena lately? I know I didn’t get off on the right foot with her. I hope that didn’t cause issues for you.”
Elijah wondered if the truth was the right path in this conversation. “Well, we are working on things.”
He went with the truth that he wishes were real. Geena wasn’t even speaking to him. Negative emotion bars for the both of them and she is barely answering his morning texts.

Up early for Work
First thing Elijah does is text Geena every morning. He knows she is at the station early. He hopes that maybe he can get her to come around and go on another date one day.

Mama 24/7 : No vacacations, No breaks
Kids settled in for the night. Check on the fruit trees. Do some research for a client’s case. And, oh yeah…got to finish going through the deposition before court tomorrow.
Maple is one tired mama.

I wasn’t so sure about mom’s idea to make that soup. When we got finished eating, dad actually seemed… happy. “Daddy, are you better now?” Like dad always says, he can’t stay sad too long with all us kids around. And you know what else he told me? “I could be even better with a hug.” So I’d say the soup was worth it. I guess that’s what comfort food is that mommy always talks about.

I’m sure the kids thought they were in trouble when I told them to wait on my upstairs. That was not it at all. Honey has been working hard to get her grades back up. Graham is an A+ student. Olivia just started grade school and is doing well already.
I thought it’d be nice for them to help me cook their dad’s favorite comfort food. They all did such a good job, working together and all.
