Johnny Kitagawa has passed away at age 87. Johnny-san was in the hospital in mid-june after he lost consciousness. He passed away on July 9th from a ruptured cerebral aneurysm.
He spent his last days with his “children,” Johnny’s entertainer. According to the statement released from the agency, the children took turns visiting him so he wouldn’t feel lonely. This time was so precious to all of them.
I’m sadden by this news and I hope that fans around the world will give time to the entertainers to mourn his death as well. Let’s all support one another and keep them all in our prayers.
My soft Yama-chan must be so hurt and we haven’t heard about Keito. I hope he is staying strong since he’s so far away.

So King and Prince’s CD debut was on May 23rd and I am so in love with them!!
They sold 577,000 copies which gave them No.1 on Oricon Weekly! So happy for them!
I’ve been watching all of their interviews/music shows/morning shows appearance since their debut!
Can’t wait to see who debuts next! Johnny-san don’t let us wait too long again!!

I have fallen head over heals for this group!
If you know me, I never really liked this group as juniors. I liked the individual members but not them as a group together. I never really care for Iwahashi or Jinguji, I just didn’t get what the hype was all about around them. I only cared for Kishi because he would always give his all when dancing, he even lost his mic while dancing once (haha). I also just loved watching him during Gamushara! He’s so funny and has such a unique character. I’m super proud of him and so happy that he will finally get to debut!! Still heart broken that Fuu left Johhny’s, they were my favorite junior pair at that time. But at least they both get to debut!
Also (If you know me), I definitely supported King more than Prince because they had better vocals (to me). No doubt, I had bias towards King when I heard of their debut announcement. Although Kishi is my bias of all 6 of them, I liked King more (weird right??). But after hearing their debut song, all of my bias towards King disappear. Their song is really good and all 6 of their voice and dancing compliments each other real well. I love that you get to hear each person’s vocal (which is rare for debut groups under Johnny’s. Keito didn’t get a line until Ride With Me??), Prince’s vocal has definitely improved. And I’m very excited now for their debut!!
I just started Hana Nochi Hare: HanaDan Next Season and it hits me right in the feels. I’m getting all the same feelings I got while watching Hana Yori Dango back in 2005. King and Prince’s debut song fits really well with this new version of HanaDan and Hirano Sho is super duper cute!! It’s a must-watch for Jdrama fans!! I’m actually really glad it is not a remake and a new version instead. If it was a remake, I don’t think a lot of fans would be satisfied.

King & Prince Iwahashi Genki suspends activities due to panic disorder
It was announced that King & Prince member Iwahashi Genki will suspend entertainment activities for a certain period of time starting from November. He will concentrate on the treatment of panic disorder that he has suffered for years and will not appear on “JOHNNY’S King & Prince IsLAND” which will start running on December 6 – January 27 at the Tokyo Imperial Theater.
Regarding Iwahashi’s illness, it was revealed that he has been coping with panic disorder since childhood. “In May 2018, he made his debut with King & Prince and the environment surrounding Iwahashi changed drastically compared with Johnnys Jr era. It became difficult for him to keep the balance between mind and body.”, a statement from Johnnys & Associates.
Upon considering the opinion of medical experts, it is deemed best for Iwahashi to suspend activities and devote himself to treatment.
Iwahashi also gave his statement apologizing to fans and staff. “I will be taking a break for a while, but I will overcome my illness and will definitely come back and become a stronger Iwahashi Genki.”
“I am facing this recuperation period positively. I thought I would live with this illness called panic disorder my whole life, but with the help of many people, I’ve been given the chance to overcome it. I think treatment needs steadiness and persistence, but I will definitely overcome the illness and focus on treatment, aiming for the day I will stand before you.
The members of King & Prince also gave a statement “He said “I’ll definitely come back!” We want to believe those words and support him with all our might.”
“During the time he is recovering, there will be many difficulties to reconfigure 6 member King & Prince to 5 people, but until he comes back, we will protect King & Prince. And we will wait until the Iwahashi Genki who shines even brighter than before makes a comeback.”
King & Prince made their debut on May 23 this year with “Cinderella Girl.” The song sold 577,000 copies on the first week and ranked first establishing the highest debut sales in the last decade. Their 2nd single “Memorial” was released this month and sold 401,000 copies on the first week. In addition to group activities, Iwahashi is starring in the drama “Bukatsu, Suki Janakya Dame Desu ka?” with members Jinguji Yuta and Takahashi Kaito. Filming for the drama already ended.
