Here’s an AU I’ve been dying to share
Ok so In the Kirby Anine timeline, everything seems normal until dedede’s home gets destroyed by nightmare when he is 7.
- Although his life was great when he was with his parents, they basically neglected him and the only thing he got was toys and food.
- He’s about to be killed until a young meta knight rescues him, meta knight asks him where does he live, and dedede doesn’t know (poor education and brain damage) so meta knight takes him to the GSA base
- The GSA makes an offer to dedede that if he wants to stay, he’ll have to learn how to help the army, either fighting, healing, or crafting weapons.
- Meta Knight then tries to teach Dedede himself how to make weapons, and Dedede makes it into the GSA army.
- Dedede acts very hostile towards anyone else but meta knight, but later on he’ll learn to work with them
- While making weapons, Dedede learned how to fight with his iconic hammer, but keeps it a secret due to GSA being mostly swordsmen

Whew I’ve got a long drive to do and this won’t even cover everything but, here we go!
Back in 2019 I came up with a Kirby au called Memories, which is essentially a “what if Galacta knight was Kirby’s dad” au exploring why he was sealed away, his past, and how it’d all connect with Kirby.

This serves as the opening to the events that happen in the story, and the drawings above are actually what would happen after this chapter.
A TLDR for this to sum it up real quick- Kirby was found by Rick in a crashed escape pod years back, and the hamster raised him as his own with the help of his buddy Coo. All the previous games take place and the time the main point in the story starts is some time after star allies.

Rick gifts Kirby something he managed to salvage from the escape pod wreckage- a picture of his parents. After this Kirby meets a new figure in his dreams, a sparkling star he becomes friends with overtime. Something about this star feels familiar, but he can’t place it.
About a month or two after these dream visits the star has some troubling news to deliver: something terrifying is coming to Dreamland. The star urges Kirby to find a way to summon it so that it can help, and tells him its name.
Using the Dream Palace, Kirby uses the Dream Rod to summon the one from his dreams. When he appears, Kirby notices a shocking similarity to one of the figures on the photo, and his suspicion is quickly confirmed.
His father, Galacta Knight. An unexpected and teary reunion follows, but not everyone is so quick to trust this figure and what he’s claiming.
From this point on the story focuses on exploring on characters and their growing relationship, themes of guilt and redemption, the encroaching danger, and GK’s secrets hidden in the past. Just what happened that Kirby was separated from his family, and why was GK sealed away to begin with?
…All questions I’ll answer as I go through this lol.
I know there’s some strange things like using the Dream Palace to summon GK, but that felt like the simplest way to go about it without digging up Nova haha. I could go ahead and spill everything and all the important parts in this post, but I wanna do some proper pictures for certain things, like Galacta himself and the info surrounding him. So look forward to that!
But this one is a story that felt too big in scope for me to write, but I’ll gladly share piece by piece. Star allies played a big part inspiring this and it’s themes.
