Hey y’all, I know I’ve heard about this before, but I can’t seem to find anything about it online. Isn’t Meta Knight nonbinary in the Japanese version of the games?

Honestly, this goes for several characters (including Marx) but Meta Knight’s gender is listed as “unknown” in the JP wiki, at least. Meaning that there are no immediate sources that clarify Meta’s gender one way or (any) others.

The difference between Meta Knight and Kirby (to my knowledge) is that questions have been asked and answered about Kirby’s gender, and they have been clarified as being non-binary. I don’t think the staff has given the same kind of answer about Meta, but we’ve never(?) gotten answers about Meta, so.

EDIT: Scratching the above paragraph, as it is arguable if the answer I was referring to counts as clarification or not. “Unconfirmed” is and remains the safest interpretation.
