#knitting hats

LIVE

Tassels for tugging a hat down more snugly! - Freshly off my needles this weekend, this hat HAD to be worn today! (Pattern is Ear Cozy Hat from Purl SoHo with minor adjustments)

Another hat off my needles! (Ear Cozy Hat, a free pattern from Purl SoHo)

A palate cleanser of a knit: after having to rip back my mitten due to fit issues, I cast on a this hat in bright blue to knit for a few days before picking up the mitten again.

Happy Friday from layering hand-knits central!

Making pompoms feels like cutting hair, another skill that does not come naturally to me. But I watched a video by thetoole.com and feel okay about these made last night for my hand-knitted Huaraz Hat #2 (they are a quick knit, so I’m going to crank out a few for some holiday presents).

The joy of “layering season”—wearing my new Huaraz Hat (pattern by Kirsten Kapur/Through the Loops) and my Chelsea Girl Shawl (pattern by me, available on Etsy or Ravelry).

Knitting a hat in less than a week—yay! (Pompoms weren’t attached or tails woven in yet in this pic, but all done last night.)

January, that happy-place time of year when it’s cold enough to break out a long wool coat … a heavy neck wrap (herringbone infinity cowl) … and a colorwork hat knitted of Shetland wool!

Merry Christmas from my wanders in Vienna— wearing all the hand-knits!

New stitches on my needles … soon to be swapped with a circ (once this hat-in-progress grows more).
