From Mike DiMartino’s AMA today about his new book:
- “But I’m currently writing the Korra graphic novels and we get to see much more of Korra and Asami’s relationship develop without any limitations from a TV network, which has been freeing to say the least.” Context
- “For the comics, it is a bit similar to writing another season (though a very short season…) But I knew exactly where I wanted to start – moments after the finale ends, with Korra and Asami entering the spirit world…” Context
- “Not sure what you mean by “explicit” but their relationship will be a focus of the comics, for sure.” Context
- “The comics will definitely give us a chance to explore more about the characters – stay tuned for that!” Context
- “Ha. Maybe a… 6? The thing about the comics (which I like) is that we are able to do smaller stories that don’t require a huge world war or invading army as the climax. There is definitely some dramatic stuff going down, but it’s not the apocalypse. ;)” Context
And from an interview with EW today:
- “It’s gonna take place right after the finale, so it’s focusing on Korra and Asami’s relationship as a new threat emerges. It’s kind of like the aftermath dealing with the new portal in the city, and all the evacuees coming back to find their homes wiped out cause of the portal, and Korra has to figure out how to find a new balance in the city with all this stuff that’s gone on.”
No caption just them<3
Second sneak peak? I love this panel, this and one later on are probably my favourite. Asami is by far a delight to draw and push her facial shapes.
Also playing with a new brush and colouring techniques! S’been fun
Hoping to upload the full comic end of the week!
