The Morning Show AU: Bradley and Laura being cozy at Laura’s ranch
I want to make it clear that Laura set boundaries recently bc she was being re traumatised both with Bradley being closeted in 2x04 and with the outing in 2x06. That’s healthy of her to do, she has her own mental health to think about as well as her girlfriend’s. And Bradley respects truth and honesty so of course Laura’s going to be very blunt about it. Bradley has the agency to break up with her if she wasn’t okay with any of these things and has repeatedly said that she doesn’t want to, and we saw they talked about it and shared their own perspectives. You know where Bradley DIDNT have agency? when the fucking jealous straight man fave of so many of the people who are attacking Laura, outed her. A man who is their boss and supposed to be both of their friends.
You don’t have to agree with what Laura said but you do have to understand that it is her recognising where she lies on this and ultimately protecting their relationship long term by being honest about that with Bradley and not just going with it to make peace. And conversations about identity and outing aren’t ones you really get in straight relationships so maybe a lot of people don’t recognise this as a good or important conversation to have, but it is.
Anyway just reminding everyone that the showrunner of The Morning Show said killing a character off with Covid felt “exploitative” considering how it is a very real pain right now… so.
