Got another irate person who asked why we have so many books on Brazilian Portuguese but not “real” Portuguese. Again I pointed out that Portugal doesn’t even rank the top three list of countries with the most Portuguese speakers and that Brazilians outnumber the Portuguese 20:1
And quite frankly I think this is a fitting revenge for colonialism, in that your nation is practically an afterthought in your language’s history, and it is about time we did this to Spanish too
