My daughter wrote her own version of the story of Anne of Green Gables the other day, and I thought it was so poetic. And Anne, of course, loves trees so it was perfect!
“The trees are higher and lower. The trees are singing.” “The trees are much higher. The trees are mellow.”
“‘You haven’t mentioned one very important thing. Are there TREES about this house?’ 'Heaps of them, oh, dryad!…’ 'Oh! I’m so glad! I couldn’t live where there are no trees- something vital in me would starve.’” -Anne’s House of Dreams, L.M. Montgomery, 1917
