Magic Rock & SALT have worked together to produce Ripe Times, a 6.5% DDH IPA. It’s a good beer but more importantly (to some people) it makes smart business sense too. Fans of Magic Rock have an easy introduction to SALT and vice versa and hopefully this leads to the growth of both breweries.

The issue with collaboration beers is that they never seem to be ‘ground breaking’ and always seem to lack a killer edge that often craft breweries tend to provide and thrive from. This is likely because making some sort of 17.6% triple barrel aged chilli-stout may not make a brilliant first impression… not the masses anyway.

Overall, two brilliant up and coming breweries have produced a ‘good’ but not ‘amazing’ beer - am I being too harsh? Check out the review!
