im well aware that it’s only logical that marcelo doesn’t continue here when it comes to the tactical aspect of the team but it doesn’t make it less upsetting. it tears me up to think about. maybe it’s because marcelo was the last player left from the squad i was introduced to when i became a madridista? maybe it’s because his departure just confirms the passage of time and the feeling of nostalgia just explodes? what i know is that marcelo for me represented real madrid and the very emotion i associated madrid with. madridismo, loyality and all, it was him. he will forever have a home here. always.
