Обыкновенное чудо, 1978

An Ordinary Miracle is a Soviet 1978 musical film, a love story by Mark Zakharov based on a play by Yevgeni Shvarts.
The protagonist of the film - The Wizard (Oleg Yankovsky), who, to amuse himself and his wife (Irina Kupchenko), invents a fairy tale. The tale’s characters come to life, come to his house and set out to live their lives.
The story unfolds as follows. Many years ago, the Wizard came up with a “reverse” fairy tale, turning a bear into a human (Alexander Abdulov), who would transform back into a bear as soon as a princess falls in love with him and kisses him. Now, the young man returns to the Wizard’s house where he meets a beautiful girl (Yevgeniya Simonova), and they immediately fall in love with each other.

Leonid Serebrennikov performed the main theme in the film (“Nelepo, smeshno, bezrassudno, bezumno, volshebno..”). Composer - Gennadi Gladkov. Lyrics by Yuli Kim.

12 CHAIRS (1976)

Remember the subbing race of 2020? Well don’t you worry because I don’t either, but welcome the child of it returning - Mark Zakharov’s 12 Chairs subbed in English!

In the year 1927 a former nobleman Ippolit Matveyevich Vorobyaninov is living quietly in the small town of N. That is, up until his mother-in-law gets suddenly worse and reveals to him that she had long ago hid her diamonds in one of the family’s chairs - the ones appropriated by the Soviet authorities and thus probably now scattered around the country. By sheer coincidence, a charismatic young crook named Ostap Bender also arrives at the wonderful town of N. this day and crosses his path. What happens next? Watch to find out :)
