Ths is a reader’s response to last week’s LA Times profile on Matthew GoodE by Mary McNamara.
Below is the concluding paragraph of her op piece. Highest compliment on Matthew’s performance. Full article under the cut.

Mary McNamara’s outstanding analysis notwithstanding, I’m not sure that Robert Evans would not have approved of Matthew Goode playing him in “The Offer.”
Although this flyover-nobody did not know Mr. Evans personally, I was lucky enough to have a small correspondence with him on Twitter between 2013 and 2017.
I nearly had a stroke (which would have smashed the oversized Evans-like sunglasses I also like) when he followed me and then felt another coming on when he responded several times to my thanks for the follow.
Over the years, I was just a bit less shocked when he would thoughtfully respond to my tweets, which were about decidedly non-Hollywood subjects. I even got a bit accustomed to the occasional direct message and greeting.
Yes, he was an older man by the time I made his online acquaintance. But he seemed to be an older man who perhaps was never as wholly outrageous as his publicly wild lifestyle might have suggested.
The Kid definitely remains in the picture, portrayed by an actor who might capture more of the Evans behind the sunglasses and the headlines. He just might have liked that very much.

Thank you for Mary McNamara’s breathtaking portrait of Matthew Goode as Hollywood icon Robert Evans [“Matthew Goode Amps It Up,” May 8]. The photographer [Dania Maxwell] perfectly captured the drama, class and glamour of a bygone era and personified the depth brought to the role by this amazing actor.
It was an unexpected Mother’s Day treat.

The Offer Episode 7 - Women find my natural musk… intoxicating
Bob’s lines will be the death of me.
those posts always go around that are like “if you’re on Tumblr and you’re over 25 blah blah blah” but honestly if you’re on Tumblr and you’re under 25, I don’t know how the fuck you found this place. like I came here when it was actually kind of cool and then just never left because all my stuff was here. what’s your excuse
Haha. I was definitely under 25 when I found this rabbit hole and have been held prisoner ever since. At this stage it’s sort of like Stockholm Syndrome.

“The Offer” continues to be one of the best shows on TV.
I recently cruised through the seventh episode of the series with Miles Teller about the making of “The Godfather,” and it’s truly awesome just how great the show is. (REVIEW: ‘The Offer’ Is An Outstanding Series About The Making Of ‘The Godfather’)
As I’ve said before, it might be just as entertaining as the actual film saga
Somehow, a show about making a movie is every bit as intense and suspenseful as any thriller that I’ve seen over the past few years.
It’s dark, gritty, violent and bodies absolutely get dropped. Without spoiling too much, at the end of the seventh episode, a very famous mob shooting plays out on screen with Albert Ruddy (Teller) watching in the crowd.
I had high expectations for “The Offer” when I saw the first trailer for the show, which includes a packed cast. However, even my wildest expectations have been blown away.
It’s borderline impossible to stop watching Teller as Ruddy, Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, Matthew Goode as Robert Evans and Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt.
We all know and love Juno from “Ted Lasso,” but she truly takes things to a different level with “The Offer.”
If you haven’t already started watching, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s one hell of an awesome series.
8. ‘The Offer’
It’s hard to believe we only have three more episodes of The Offer to go! This month, we saw the production move from sunny Los Angeles to the unforgiving streets of New York City as super producer Al Ruddy (Miles Teller) does his best to get The Godfather made—even if that means getting Paramount Pictures in bed with gangster Joe Colombo (Giovanni Ribisi). Though Matthew Goode’s vivid portrayal of Hollywood legend Robert Evans is awe-inspiring to watch, it’s nice to see Grey’s Anatomy alum Justin Chambers disappear into his role of Marlon Brando tackling his most-iconic character, Don Vito Corleone. Also featuring standout performances from Juno Temple, Colin Hanks, Burn Gorman and Anthony Ippolito as Al Pacino, The Offer is an eccentric and often exhilarating tale of the New Hollywood of the 1970s. — Karen Kemmerle
Oh - “awe inspiring” - I like it.
