as sam kim’s where’s my money blasts in the background, your focus is on one specific individual only.

his pale platinum-brownish locks is dispersed away from his eyes, unlocking a view to his sharp set of coloured contacts. taking the strands of hair to the side, he plays with it until he’s satisfied.

you can’t help but be hyper fixated on him.

when he notices your gaze, he careens his head. “eh? what are you looking at, y/n?”

hair dye

“So, I did a thing,” you commented as soon as your boyfriend closed the door to your apartment behind him.

“Hmm, now I’m worried,” Chenle replied, placing the snacks he’d bought at the convenience store on your kitchen bench. “Do I want to know what you’ve done?”

“Yes, and I actually need your help with it!” Chenle’s eyebrows raised as you raced to your room, returning a few seconds later with what looked like shampoo bottles in your hands.

“Uh oh,” Chenle stated as you dumped your haul onto the living room floor. “What have I just walked into, Y/N?"

"I want to dye my hair pink.”

Chenle stared at you for a moment and blinked slowly, giving himself a chance to take in this information before he replied. “And you want my help?”

“Yeah, I figured you’d know what to do.”

“Well you’re not wrong.” Chenle approached the bottles and picked them off the ground, examining each one briefly. “I think I can work with this.”

You let out a squeal and ran to your bathroom, Chenle chuckling at your excitement as he followed you. You found an old towel and wrapped it over your shoulders as Chenle opened the bottle of bleach and pulled on the plastic gloves. “Are you ready?”

When you nodded in response, Chenle squeezed the cool substance onto the top of your head and used his fingers to rub it into your scalp, your eyes closing as he essentially gave you a head massage. He’s a pro at this, you thought as Chenle ran his fingers down the length of your hair, making sure no spot was missed.

Once he was finished, Chenle wrapped your bleached hair in glad wrap and fetched the snacks he’d bought earlier. He joined you in sitting on the bathroom floor as you both watched a episode of your favourite show together, him occasionally feeding you snacks as he wrapped a hand around your waist.

Thirty minutes later, a timer on Chenle’s phone went off, and he unwrapped your hair before you jumped in the shower to wash out the bleach. He waited patiently for you to finish, smiling when you emerged with your hair dripping all over the floor.

“You’re a mess,” he laughed, wrapping the old towel around your head and manually drying it for you. He then fetched your hairdryer and sat you on the toilet and he ran his fingers through your hair, drying it.

“Can we put the pink dye in now?” You asked, a glimmer of hope in your eye.

“We usually have to wait at least a day,” Chenle started, but soon gave in to your pleading puppy-dog eyes. “Although our stylist always dyes our hair right after it’s been bleached, so it should be fine.”

Chenle went through the whole process again with the pink dye, and you managed to make it through another episode of your show before you jumped in the shower for the second time. This time, when you emerged with your hair sopping wet, a proud smile graced Chenle’s features.

“What?” You questioned as he pulled you out, starting to dry your hair with the blow dryer. Once all the water was out, Chenle spun you around to the mirror above the sink and your hand automatically rose to cover your gaping mouth.

“Oh my god, Chenle! This looks so amazing,” you cried as you turned your head to the side, examining your pastel pink strands of hair. “I didn’t realise you’d be so good at dyeing my hair.”

“Of course I would be,” he replied, grinning as if it was nothing. “Maybe now I should bring back my pink look and we can be matching!”

Y/N,

The first time you said “I love you”, I thought I was going to have to kill you.

That night we first met, I was not in a good state. My family had recently been forced to move from the commune we had called home for twenty years by your kind, and we were essentially on the run in search of a new, friendlier place to stay. Because we were vampires, my family could only travel efficiently during the night and so we were tired and very, very hungry. My mother, older brother, and I had managed to find a dingy little abandoned warehouse to stay in and we’d been taking turns to go out and feed on the wildlife near our new home. When I met you, I was scouring the forest for something to eat. A deer, a rabbit, a fox - I would eat literally anything at this point. Shit, even a frog would have been enough to sustain me until my family joined the vampire commune rumoured to be near your city.

Running almost blindly through the forest due to the large trees blocking out any moonlight, I had picked up the scent of what I assumed to be a wild deer and was doing my best to catch up to it while working on extremely low levels of energy. As a half-vampire, my senses were not as strong as a pure vampire even when they were functioning at normal capacity, let alone when I had been starving for days. I’d never ever been this hungry before in my whole life - I could feel my vision clouding and the bloodlust taking over my mind, pure adrenaline and craving coursing through my veins.

After a few moments the deer was within my sights and a couple of seconds later I was close enough to pounce on top of it and send us both rolling through the damp forest floor. The poor creature had no idea what was happening - one second it was standing peacefully alone and the next it was being chased by an inhuman creature, unaware of what its fate would be. Trust me, I did feel guilty killing the poor thing, as I’d only ever fed off of willing mortals at the old commune. But as my fangs sunk into the deer’s neck and its hot blood flowed into my mouth, down my throat, and to every fibre of my being, remorse was the last thing I was feeling.
