Lead Artist: Decorating and filling insect hotels and bug boxes in a drop-in, town-centre, workshop alongside bookable gallery sessions:
“Inside Outside is about merging the beauty of nature and our surroundings with art. Creative expression is a very freeing and wonderful pastime to develop and explore.”
Corinne Whitham, a trustee of Williamson & Priory Friends
The gallery works will be included in an exhibition later in the year at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum:
I’ve been doing a lot of freelance and work art, so I was really excited about this #MeetTheArtist meme. Please enjoy the colours and little factoids about me!
It is almost the end of the year and I thought now was a good time to reintroduce myself to all the followers I gained in 2021!
Hey all, my name is Samantha Mash. I’m was born and raised in the Bay Area, California, but have lived in the Willamette Valley, Oregon over the past decade (but trust me everyday I am a dry marsh, coastal living sorta girl at heart)
I’m a small, but loud girl with a quiet heart. I wish I could say I travel the world, meet a lot of people, and live a very exciting artist life, but I spend most of my time at home with my black cat Seti or out on walk/hike/jogs. I am often found researching things I find interesting simply for the fun of it, collecting more cacti, and consuming too much matcha. My favorite colors these days is peach, chartreuse, marigold, and dusty brown
As a multifaceted creator who runs an original merchandise shop, sells large prints at another site, and all while also being a freelance editorial and publishing illustrator (though I am always open to any jobs that seem to fit well with my work) I am often very tired
I am passionate about creating a more open and honest space within illustration. I never thought I could truly make art my sole income as someone from my background. My journey to be where I am has been hard and often I realize that is because of others not distributing information out of fear that sharing advice will create less paying work for themselves. I do not think this is true and I will never lie to you about how difficult (and often rewarding too) this life can be, nor try to hide my resources whenever possible when asked. I can’t solve or fix all problems, but I always will try to help
If you feel like supporting me I have a Patreon, Etsy, Inprnt, and Ko-Fi all easily findable through this link. I am truly thankful for all the support you all have already shown me over my artistic career. It is the only reason I’ve been able to make this all work
Since I love building color palettes, let me know what your favorite colors are these days? I am happy to have you all here and excited to show you the new illustrative pieces I am creating going into 2022
