Do other Ex JWs know about Meg Myers or is it just me who went through that phase
Meg Myers - Grizzly
Lyrics
I didn’t want to let you go
I cannot bare to loose control
I love the way it tastes
Don’t take it all away
Not now not now
Like honey that dips so sweet
How desperate my grizzly needs
I don’t feel okay
Don’t take it all away
Not now not now
If only I could turn this water to wine
I need it one last time
I need it one last time
Maybe I could turn this darkness to light
I need it one last time
I need it one last time
I wanna feel alive
I need it one last time
Your body has left impressions on me
I’m craving the high
I’m down on my knees
I love the way it taste
Don’t take it all the way
Not now not now
If only it was real again
If only I could feel again
If only I could turn this water to wine
I need it one last time
I need it one last time
Maybe I could turn this…
Can I objectify myself
Lap up the power
feel the blood on my thighs
Warm and sour
veins of velvet
an ocean they can’t swim
Iron and grass and discontent
And that good body
The vascular, the valleys
Squeezing the fruit
Rivulets of sugars
sticking and sinking in
gluing hair to the tiny moguls
Of riveted skin
Can I kneel in the mirror
grow nails long and sharp
Can I sink them in the center
To pull it apart
build a kingdom
make them sick
swim in the moat
lick my lips
I’m writing a poem every day this December. I hope you enjoy some of them. I wrote this one listening to “Desire” by Meg Myers, “Blue Light” by Kelela, and “Leave The Light On” by Overcoats. And if you’d like to subscribe to the newsletter, click here.
