#merlin rewatch
The Death Song of Uther Pendragon is legit one of the best episodes in the whole of Merlin
It’s self-contained, with an easy and psychologically compelling premise (I’m ready to fight anyone that says that Arthur’s guilt over Uther, even after all those years, is unrealistic), unexpected horror vibes, great use of music (and silence! which is unusual in this show), and super emotional BAMF scenes. Oh, and did I mention the acting? The trio of Bradley - Colin - Anthony Head is life.
Also, I respect this episode so much for not coming up with a lesson of “oh yes, he might be bad, but he’s still your father”. No Arthur. Cut him off. Move on. Blow him away to that spirit world. You’re your own person, you deserve better than this toxic jerk.
Oh. My. God. You can freely give Colin Morgan a 20 seconds scene with a full zoom on his face and you’ll be guaranteed he’ll tell a whole story with just that.
The “good night, son” - “sleep well, father” scene from the Last Dragonlord. The joy in Merlin’s eyes. The fact that he realizes he can say these words for the first time in his life. The rare moment when he feels whole, loved, like the hole in his heart has finally been filled. The hope that is sparkling in the corners of his eyes - for the future, for a life he could never have. My heart aches for him. I want to give him a blanket and take all his worries away.
pls this is my absolute favorite scene w colin morgan because you can see him MOUTH THE WORDS and then smile n cry a little because HE! HAS! NEVER! SAID! THOSE! WORDS! BEFORE!!! just the way an entire story and thought process plays out on his face without him having to say even a sentence. this man.

This would include an episode a week, and having a group watch at a specific time (through Rabb.it or another shared streaming site), episode contests with prizes, graphics themed for the episode of the week, merchandise giveaways, memes, and much more!!
I was going to do it through tumblr, AND the Merlin site HERE called Welcome To Camelot [its not just for RP but also, for any fans who want to join a safe community to talk about the show] !!
I would LOVE to organize this, but first, really want to test the waters a little! SO if you’re interested in being part of the Rewatch (i.e getting info and updates about this), PLEASE give this a like,reblog, AND/OR send me a message!!!
