Methos screencaps * The Valkyrie
Mac, that’s exactly what he believed. Remember? Uh, what was his name? Adolf something or other.
Another walk-and-talk! And The Valkyrie has one more walking scene, so I’ll do that for tomorrow.
Capping Methos scenes always puts me in “ugh, he’s so pretty” mode. Ugh, he’s so pretty.

“I’d rather you survived. You put that first.”
Fun fact: the first time I saw this scene I made a truly unholy sound and rewound the bit where Duncan paints Methos’s nose about three times.
Additional fun fact: I’m not really a Duncan/Methos shipper, but I could totally buy it based on this scene alone.

This is nice, isn’t it?
That scene in the rain - part 1 of 3, because I could not bear to cut the pretty. I really, really love this scene; I’m kind of obsessed with Methos’s romantic self and the way he relates to people he loves, and this is a really nice example.

It’s my nose, isn’t it? Yep, it’s my nose.
Part 2 of 3 of the wonderful rain scene. Things I love: the many variations of his smile.

Absolutely. We’d better make it tonight.
Part 3 of 3. I love his serious face here, too, and his determination. I have a lot (A LOT) of feelings about Methos and romance, but they need a bit of marshalling before they can turn into Real Meta and not just omgfeeeeeels.
But. Feels.

Methos screenaps * The Messenger (½)
Yes, I heard about your beliefs. Do you really think there’s no such thing as evil?
There are so many things to love about this scene! Methos looking like he’s trying not to burst out laughing. The casually and deliciously dangerous way he swings that sword about. The way he totally has his own agenda in this scene and fake Methos hardly even notices.
It is a thing of beauty.

Some might think that that experience is worth saving.
So many pretty close-ups in the second half of this scene!

“What is the first rule of great drama?”
I feel like I should wax lyrical about the beauty of this scene and the man’s face, but I am super-tired and cannot find the words. One thing I love, though: the glimpse we get of Methos’s Horseman persona in the present day. This is Methos in full-on acting mode, buttering up Kronos like nobody’s business, with a slight self-aggrandising side that you don’t usually see in Methos.
There should be meta on Methos’s Horseman persona at some point.

Methos screencaps * Deliverance
“You can fight this. I can help you if you let me!”
The church scene, part two: fun with swords (and with Methos falling down and looking panicky). Methos in jeopardy is so much fun.

Methos screencaps * ten smiles
I’ve finally managed to cap every scene Methos appears in! This photoset is my reward to myself: ten Methos smiles. His smile is one of my favourite things! And I like the variety. We have everything here, from sweet to amused to evil.
Any feelings on what I should do next, gentle followers?

Methos screencaps * The Modern Prometheus
Ahhh, the costuming in this episode is exquisite. I especially love the boots (why don’t they ever pan up male legs the way they do with female legs, that’s what I want to know). Also two very beautiful coats, and two really nice shirtsleeves-and-waistcoat looks.
Plus, Methos slouching around all over the place like he does. Sadly many of my lounging Methos caps are full of motion blur because the camera is panning around all over the place. I guess this means I should get on with making gifs…

More flashback Methos! Specifically, more Benjamin Adams - I really like the costuming here, too! Pickings are a bit thinner here, but there’s still a lot of attractive stuff (the cravat! yay!). And once again, good 19th-century hair.

It’s working, isn’t it?
Mmmmmm. Some things are just pretty. Methos with a sword to his throat is one of them. And there are many ways you could interpret that expression on his face and the way he breathes…
Just leaving this here.

Methos screencaps * Chivalry
Not only are you naïve, now you are weaponless.
I love this scene. Methos schools Mac on self-preservation - and gets knocked on his bum in return, poor boy!
Even better is the next part, where we get Methos with a sword to his throat…

“It’s good to be a myth.”
Ah, this is the first time we really get to know Methos, and it’s beautiful. The hair. The coat! The script, rolled up in his pocket! Methos’s casual attitude, his off-handed arrogance and humour.

Methos screencaps * Finale Part 1
I’m sorry, Joe. I’m just a guy.
I love the relationship between Methos and Joe, and there just isn’t enough of it on-screen. But this is one of the best scenes they get. I love Joe’s indignation and Methos’s (apparent) openness and vulnerability. And the way Methos stops walking and gives that little smile as he tells Joe that Christine has nothing.
(But even a five-thousand-year-old man can be wrong, of course.)

Methos screencaps * Finale Part Two
The passion of youth.
I seem to be making a bit of a habit of walk-and-talks this week! There is honestly no Methos scene I dislike, but this is a particularly fun one - it has Methos mildly goading Mac, for he is a troll, and a small amount of trading clichés, and it’s a very nice scene for the relationship between Mac and Methos.
I guess I should figure out if there’s another walk-and-talk for Saturday!

There’s one born every minute!
Things I love about this scene: how amused Methos is, all his slouchy postures, that big floppy sweater making him look tiny, that big floppy sweater exposing his beautiful neck.
So pretty. And this scene is hilarious. “I think I’ll go and buy some socks…”

Methos screencaps * neck porn
I think I mentioned recently that I’m really fond of Methos’s neck. So here are some pretty screencaps of that particularly attractive part of his anatomy.
I feel I should mention that if you would like to see a particular set of screenshots, gifset, or any other kind of content, you can always send me an ask or comment on a reblog and I’ll add it to the list. (The disadvantage of making a daily blog for someone like Methos is that I’m always worried I’m going to run out of content.)

Cut clean.
This is a really short scene, but it’s really beautiful - he looks so vulnerable. And get a load of the suspicion and confusion in that last shot.
Mm, acting.

Methos screencaps * Chivalry
You will get over it too.
Ah, he’s really pretty in this scene. Lots of closed eyes. And smiling. I like the smiling.

Methos screencaps * that adorable crinkly forehead thing
I really, really like the adorable crinkly forehead thing.
Not sure why, but it’s really pretty.

Methos screencaps * Timeless
Cute. I can do cute.
Yes, sir, you definitely can.
I really like outfits where he has his neck exposed, for some reason. Probably plugs back into me liking Methos even more when he looks vulnerable. Also I’m fascinated by the thing he’s got around his neck - I don’t think we ever see what’s on the end of it, if anything! (I assume there is something though, ‘cause why would you wear a plain black string around your neck?)

Methos screencaps * Not To Be
You know, I don’t know who or what you are, Methos.
I love this final scene - the flashbacks and the music always make me tear up a little, and the little bits with Methos, Joe and Amanda are really sweet. I particularly love what Mac says to Methos here. It’s a nice wrap-up to their relationship.

Methos screencaps * The Valkyrie
I call this the “moody walk” - both in my head and in my big list of Methos scenes (useful for tracking). It even has moody bluesy music.

It was a joke!
Oh dear, poor Methos. He really shouldn’t do favours for MacLeod.
This is definitely one of those great big sweaters.

You should be more paranoid.
The motion blur is vile in this scene. Gotta love some paranoid Methos, though. And the snow is pretty.

Just some random pictures from one of my very favourite episodes.

Methos screencaps * Finale part 1
I don’t suppose this problem has a name, does it?
I really love how young he looks in these episodes - he’s playing the part of the grad student to a T, complete with atrocious dress sense (not sure if he’s wearing the red trousers in this scene, but the many layers are very studenty) and very 90s hair.
(I’m at a con today! Couldn’t quite work up the enthusiasm for trawling through AO3 for a rec, so you get pics instead.)

Methos screencaps * Comes A Horseman
Trust me, if I have to lose one, it will be you.
More nasty historical Methos, with half a blue face and a terrible wig. (I still don’t care that it’s terrible. Give me more long-haired Methos.)

Methos screencaps * Comes A Horseman (2 of 2)
I am Methos. You live to serve me. Never forget that.
Methos is so very nasty in this scene. I like that they don’t sugar-coat this at all - the show is not forgiving of Methos’s past or trying to make it acceptable. He did a lot of horrible, horrible things. I think it’s fascinating that we come face-to-face with this and still manage him to be sort of on the side of the good guys.

Surprise, you’re not dead.
I think I’m pretty much alone in loving the terrible wig and the blueface. I have a bit of a weakness for long hair. Even, apparently, when it’s a terrible wig.
