My design for Justine Moritz from the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley ♥

It was very interesting researching what working women wore in the 18th century and I ended up having so much fun designing her! :) (And then redesigning her a few dozen times too!! XD )

I hope you like my little drawing of her :)

(Also this is pretty much how I imagined their height difference too)

Henry Clerval is part Hobbit. You can’t change my mind.

Little sketch of Creature from the novel Frankenstein :)

I actually drew this during a power cut, I realized that because I have a laptop I could still use electricity and defy the will of the gods!! >:3

So of course I drew The Creature from Frankenstein ♥

My design(s) for Elizabeth Lavenza from Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein” ❤️

In the 1818 version she is described as having dark auburn hair and hazel eyes and in the 1831 revised version she is described with golden hair and blue eyes, so I thought I’d draw both :)

Also I tried to dress her authentically so I hope you’re proud of me because 1780s to 1790s women’s fashion is very confusing XD

My own take on a design for Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus.

(Specifically this is meant to be Victor around the time he was studying at the university of Ingolstadt.)

I feel I should specify this is based almost exclusively on his character in the book, so not an AU and also not drawn for any other reason than to try and appease my slightly obsessing mind XD

This isn’t necessarily his finalised design, but for this little project I thought it would be fun to share my character designs with you all as I draw them :)

I have also drawn designs for some of the other characters already, so expect more Frankenstein drawings in the near future my dears ♥

Methos screencaps * The Modern Prometheus

Ahhh, the costuming in this episode is exquisite. I especially love the boots (why don’t they ever pan up male legs the way they do with female legs, that’s what I want to know). Also two very beautiful coats, and two really nice shirtsleeves-and-waistcoat looks.

Plus, Methos slouching around all over the place like he does. Sadly many of my lounging Methos caps are full of motion blur because the camera is panning around all over the place. I guess this means I should get on with making gifs…

THE UNBOUND PROMETHEUS - DEAD ‘AMV’

This animation has been in the works for months and is about my little Frankenstein AU/retelling where Victor doesn’t abandon his creation and intends to use it to become a great scientist.
Plus a bunch of OCs and references to other Frankenstein-related or gothic media.

Music is ‘Dead’ by Apashe (ft. Yizzy)

Exceedingly cool Frankenstein AU animation.  Concept/trailer I believe for a potential webcomic by OP that I would adamantly read the hell out of.  I have rewatched this a normal amount of times.

Victor Frankenstein wearing this shirt:

sea-change:

MARY FUCKING SHELLEY.  ’oh, i’m a nineteen year old female in a world where females are basically valued only as mothers, grieving over the loss of my child, disowned by my father, in dire financial straights, stuck in a country that’s not my own, ignored and cheated on by my husband, and belittled by my husband’s friends?  how am i going to deal with this?  WHY DON’T I COMPLETELY CHANGE THE RULES OF LITERATURE, MOTHERFUCKERS?  AND WHILE I’M AT IT, I’LL SIMULTANEOUSLY INVENT AN ENTIRE NEW GENRE, AND WRITE THE FIRST NON-RELIGIOUS CREATION MYTH.’

do you ever think about how weird it is that the moral of Frankenstein is kind of less just “graverobbing is weird and creepy” and more “take some fucking responsibility if you’re going to do so”

“if you’re going to create a large corpse son, you better be ready to love him”

“We can’t play God and then wash our hands of the results.”

Victor refusing to make the Monster a wife because he was worried they’d breed is such a cop out. Like, you’re cobbling together body parts from charnel houses. You can just not give her any ovaries. You can just spay her like a cat. Why are you this dumb Victor. You’re a doctor.

the implication that victor spend weeks giving the monster a working dick is also extremely weird

Something to remember is that Victor didn’t just give the monster a working dick! He wanted his creation to be made of the best parts of men-it’s why the monster is made up of so many different pieces rather than one fresh corpse, why he’s so large, and why Victor is disappointed that he isn’t beautiful.

So, what does this mean? It means that Victor looked at the dicks of various corpses, testing not only to make sure they work, but also to find what he considered to be the best corpse dick. Does this mean the monster was extremely hung? Or did Victor simply pick the dick that seemed most attractive to him? Did he memorize the appearance of the dicks, or did he line them up to compare?

We’ll never know, because the original story never touches on the subject, and it’s one of the few flaws in Mary Shelley’s work.

I know I started this conversation but I’m so sorry I did

Considering we know who Mary Shelley was spending time around I guarantee this was a CONVERSATION that she actively and adamantly refused to actually include in the text

Well, there is ONE adaptation which includes this very discussion.
