The Silk-Knot Popover Shirt

Another entry of the Capsule Collection #02 is this exclusive popover shirt made from a very fine fabric from Somelos. The first prototype of this shirt dates back to my days at RCC - Premium Shirtmakers, about 8 years ago.

I had the idea to create a style where cufflinks would be worn as buttons on the front placket, drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese garments. I also decided to add jetted side pockets that allow you to carry along any essentials.

A generous mao collar and 4-button placket add the final details.

The popover is now available online on a made-to-order basis, with a 10-day lead time. Get it here.

Beyond Fabric - Style #01

This was the first style I began working on. Inspired by a pair of vintage military trousers I bought a few years back, it features a semi-wide leg and triple pleated front. The expressive 5cm cuffs allow for better draping while adding a bit of flare.

Especially love the details on the pleats and side pockets. These ones are made from a linen/cotton blend with a very interesting texture. Now available online - here.

Either you have it or you don’t. It’s amazing how Gui always manages to portray an updated take on what many would think are outdated fabrics, garments or accessories. Being able to walk into Pitti wearing a monochrome ensemble comprised of a tweed suit and bow tie and still be coolest guy around is no easy task.

My respect for him goes way back to the day when virtually no one knew who he was at the Fortezza, but it keeps growing as he continues to educate and inspire younger generations through classic elegance.
