There used to be a translation/summary for Sound Episode 2′s “Naked Lelouch” available somewhere on the internet back in 2008, but since I can’t find it anymore, here’s a Rolo-focused one. You can follow this niconico upload as a reference for the timestamps. Hope you find this translation helpful despite my very unnatural English sentences!

The story starts with Milly and Shirley seeing Rolo very tired from having had to pose for other students during Art Week. Milly didn’t even know about the existence of such an event (because third-year students do not participate in it), and upon hearing that she missed Lelouch’s suffering during last year’s Art Week, she decides that she has to organize a new event where Lelouch must pose as a nude model.

Shirley: Hey, did you know? Last year’s model was Lulu.

Rolo: Brother was?!

Shirley:Yeah. He was so troubled when people complained “Don’t move!”, “Your expression changed!”

Rolo:*dreamily* Just like me…

(Note: Since Art Week started just the previous year, as a memorial to Clovis, the only students who have been chosen as models so far have been the Lamperouge Brothers. I’ll take that as Rolo canonically being considered the second prettiest boy in all of Ashford?)

So Lelouch arrives, looking for Rolo to talk about who’s doing the cooking tomorrow, and Milly asks him to get naked. He refuses, as he is offended when thinking about how he’ll definitely be drawn poorly. It takes him an entire train of thought to realize that that’s not where the problem lies. Anyway, Lelouch manages to convince Milly that, if she forces him to be a nude model, those people who feel sorry for him will turn against her and she’ll lose support as the president (and Lelouch has a big group of fans in Ashford, all of whom are female, Rivalz notes). Lelouch suggests that Rivalz be the nude model instead, and although Milly responds that she isn’t interested, Lelouch considers this a “mission cleared”. Rolo internally admires his intelligence as well:

Rolo:(That’s just like Brother… He was able to find a way out without needing me to help him with my geass! Aah, my brother is so smart, I knew it!)

Rivalz:Darn it, my part is over. Rolo, I leave it in your hands.

Rolo:Eh?

Rivalz: Lelouch is not an option, I’m not an option… The only one left is you! 

Milly:Oh, that’s right! There’s Rolo! 

Rolo:Eh? Eeeh?! 

Milly: Your skin is so white and soft-looking~

Rolo:Please stop touching me…

Milly: Got it. I’ll simply observe you thoroughly, okay?

Rolo: Yes. … Eh? What?

Lelouch: Rolo, it’s an order from the President.

Rolo:Brother…!

Milly in the background: Ah! Those eyes that are begging for help are so cute!

Shirley in the background: Rolo’s face look like a girl’s, but I wonder what… (t/n: I can’t hear the exact word, sorry)

Rolo: (Eh? How did it come to this!? Should I use my geass and escape by stopping time…? Wait, if I do that, the president will then have nowhere to go and put Brother in her evil clutches! What should I do…?)

Lelouch: Wait, president! It can’t be Rolo after all! My only little brother… You can’t make him pose naked in public!

Rolo:Brother!

Milly:So then who will do it?

Lelouch: If it has to come to forcing Rolo, I will-!

Rolo:No way! If it has to come to forcing Brother, I will do it instead.

Lelouch:Rolo, but then-!

Rolo: It’s okay. It’s for Brother’s sake, after all.

Lelouch:Rolo…

Rolo:Brother… 

And Milly interrupts them because they are making her look like the bad guy. Why would you interrupt that, Milly? Come on… 

Rolo is happy because “Brother protected me again today… Aah, if it’s for Brother’s sake, falling prey to the president is nothing!” (7:52) Notice how despite spending all his life longing for someone who’d take care of him, Rolo’s reaction to Lelouch protecting him is always to insist on being the one to protect Lelouch instead. In the main anime too. He’s a very grateful kid except towards Shirley.

Then Suzaku appears, says “I absolutely refuse” before Milly even gets to explain what it is that she’d like to request from him, and Gino arrives as well and everyone tricks him into willingly becoming the protagonist of the next event (without telling him what the event is about). In order to do so, Lelouch pretends that this is an event where only he (Lelouch) can be the chosen one and Gino wouldn’t be good enough, so Gino feels looked down on and decides to prove him wrong (Lelouch himself tends to fall for this trick when Schneizel uses it, by the way). Rolo, unable to tell that Lelouch is acting, is totally confused, and I like how when it’s his turn to speak he just says “Eh? Yeah…? Eh…?” and Lelouch translates that into a “Rolo says he agrees as well” (10:10).

Really adorable Rolo here. This CD was released when the show was around episode 17 in Japan I think, so we weren’t exactly getting innocent pure boi Rolo from the anime… 

In other news, Daichuu will again be a guest in GeaGene radio in a couple of weeks. Could that mean Rolo is soon to be added to Genesic Re;CODE?
