Once when I went to visit family in Brazil I was wearing a t-shirt during Mineiro winter at my friend’s aunt’s deep in the countryside and my friend’s mom was like “Put on a coat, you’re gonna get pneumonia!” and I was like “It’s colder than this when I walk to school like this in September in northern Canada, I think I’ll be fine.”

I ended up lending my early autumn coat (that I’d brought as a winter coat) to a friend of my friend’s little sister who was shivering despite having a coat on because she was from Brasilia. (“Oh my GOD. This coat is so warm, I’m never taking it off.”)
