Everything seems to disappear into the golden light and the smog as the sun gets closer to the horizon. The La Mesa watershed, which can be seen from the summit of Mt. Parawagan, Montalban, is an important source of water for the residents for a lot of cities and towns in this area.

The northern half of Metro Manila and its neighboring towns and cities can be seen from the summit of Mt. Parawagan in my hometown. It also has a view of the sun setting behind Mt. Mariveles in Bataan, and a hint of the Manila Bay.

The rate at which subdivisions are being developed in my hometown is alarming. The population and traffic volume of Montalban increases insanely fast. More and more people from other cities and towns move into ours but there’s no improvement at all in our roads (and roads systems) which probably are even narrower than they were during the Spanish Era. No joke. Rice fields have been developed for houses and our rivers are at risk of being polluted.
Anyway, still, I love my hometown.
