Refinery: Cafe & Bar
Rustic but radical. Rough but relaxed. Say hello to Refinery. Just a few walks from the Power Plant Mall, it caters the exact cravings of their target market. If you ever find yourself wanting to binge on caffeine all day with a kick of pleasant meals in between, this is the place you’ve been looking for.
My friends and I agreed to be here right after eating lunch but the time wasn’t fair enough for us and it did not happen. You know what they say, arranged plans are bound to improbability. It’s somehow right. Anyway, since we came in late, we had to settle for comfort food to fill in our tummies: Classic Affogato, Double Truffle Fries, and two cups of coffee to accompany the meals (sadly I was not in the mood to order one). They were satisfying. The prices were reasonable, too. So if you just happen to pass by near the area, I would recommend this fulfilling go-to café.
Reading from various sources, the coffee bean, LaMill, they have is top-notch, which is a good reason for me to come back and try it! Let me know if you have tasted it! I want to know your thoughts.

Hatch 22: Cafe & Bakery
Besides the wooden table tops, cemented walls and high ceiling, what else do you have to be mindful about when looking for a delightful place to eat brunch? Of course food. Located at Rockwell, Hatch 22 delivers just that - a unique kind of experience from their well-presented food to the overall modern-cushy ambiance.
From what I heard, their menu is adaptive, meaning it changes depending on what time you arrive. How awesome is that? But honestly, I did not about it when we went there. Although the food certainly looks delicious, it somehow fails to complement its taste. Their menu has a long list of never-before-heard food (pardon if it’s just me) so I might as well go back here and try the other ones. Nevertheless, if you want to fill your stomach enough to last for a short walk along the area, Hatch 22 is the place to go.
A quick trivia though, Erwan and Solenn Heussaff are two of the founders. I was hoping to see one of them for the sake of… I don’t know. Susmarheuseff, maybe next time? Ha!
