Several people have been dming over instagram and twitter, asking about how long Derek’s run in MR will be or when/how long will he be out when his baby arrives. It’s sort of ridiculous to be asked several times with these repeating questions especially his time in Moulin Rouge is fresh.

We want to reiterate that we are not affiliated with Derek or his team so take what we say with a grain of salt due to this just being an educated guess on our end. Honestly, the best truth is - we definitely don’t know when the specific timeline was set upon he signed the contract to be involved in the show. It literally can be from six months to year at the latest, especially if he’s taking over someone’s role and how well he is received in the show.

And when his baby arrives, I really don’t know how long his paternity leave will be. It is really depends on what the guidelines are for the Actor’s Equity Contract. It is completely up to him to make the decision on how long he’ll stay. Please respect him and his wishes. And whenever he makes any sort of an announcement, I will bring it to you guys! Thank you!
