The Duquesne Incline was originally built in 1877 to carry cargo up Pittsburgh’s Mt. Washington. Today, the funicular allows for gorgeous views of the Pennsylvanian city.

From the 2015 Photo Contest, this photo was taken by Alexander “Buckeye” Kingsbery from the top of the South Sister in the Three Sisters Widerness just as sun rose. Middle Sister and North Sister are obvious but careful examination is required to pick out snow-capped Mt. Hood in the far, far distance and Mt. Jefferson, with its distinctive peak, in front of Mt. Hood. The point of Mt. Washington barely protrudes. What a glorious sight to behold!
