LIVE

Mumford without banjo is if like Britney stopped singing like a baby. You can’t fuck with the essentials.

Ho Hey - The Lumineers

“Ho Hey” is the first single and music video by the American indie folk band, The Lumineers. This video was directed by Ben Fee, who really creates a wonderful rustic and slightly nostalgic feel to accompany the soulful lyrics. This song reminds me a lot of “Little Talks” by Of Monsters And Men combined with the moving vocals of Mumford and Sons. “Ho Hey” is one of those typical repeat songs, that you cannot just listen to once. A friend of mine sent me this amazing track this morning, and it has literally been on repeat ever since.

I’ve been trying to do it right
I’ve been living a lonely life
I’ve been sleeping here instead
I’ve been sleeping in my bed,
I’ve been sleeping in my bed

So show me family
All the blood that I would bleed
I don’t know where I belong
I don’t know where I went wrong
But I can write a song

1,2,3 I belong with you, you belong with me you’re my sweetheart
I belong with you, you belong with me you’re my sweet

I don’t think you’re right for him
Look at what it might have been if you
Took a bus to Chinatown
I’ve been standing on Canal
And Bowery
And she’d be standing next to me

1,2,3 I belong with you you belong with me you’re my sweetheart
I belong with you, you belong with me you’re my sweetheart

And love, we need it now
Let’s hope for some
Cause oh, we’re bleeding out

I belong with you you belong with me you’re my sweetheart
I belong with you you belong with me you’re my sweet

After being on hiatus for around a year, Mumford have apparently started recording their third album which they intend to release in early 2015.

“It’s still very early days because they have been enjoying their down time. But very early work and sessions have begun quietly on album number three. They haven’t announced anything officially because they don’t want to be under lots of pressure,” a source said.

“At this point, it’s still more likely the album will be released at some point next year - unless things move very quickly.”

Who knows what will happen, but Mumford fans are definitely waiting for a new album.
