I tried to change this up slightly from how traditional fight club fics go, it’s based loosely on the Japanese sport shoot boxing (although far less rules).

A fact that you were trying to push to the back of your mind as you stepped into the main arena, noticing a crowd of people gathered around a cage near the back as they roared and jeered.
This wasn’t somewhere you thought you’d ever find yourself, wishing you were back at home tucking into a quart of ice cream and watching whatever trashy reality show was on television tonight. No, this was your last resort.

don’t think ANYONE!!! can understand how much this single piece fueled me. it was so good??? the reason why the reader is in so much debt, how nasty and downright wicked Shindou is? he is such a good villain and Jo definitely serves him justice. i love how much of a softie Bakugou is under his hard demeanor. betting his whole fight club on the match to pay off reader’s debt??? how he kept repeating he’d do anything for them? ugh my freaking heart. it’s so wicked in depth (i mean, 40k of plot building with delicious smut) but the theme itself, underground fight club, just itches such a good spot in my brain i can’t even describe it!! plus, while being “seedy,” Bakugou still plays fair, takes care of all his fighters while still being an absolute badass? he fucking got stabbed and was still only caring about reader? i’m head over heels in love. this will be something i come back to time and time again
