He’s (almost comically) scared of everything due to an accident in his youth with his mother’s magic items. He’s struggled in life because of it, and has a rough time interacting with people. So he tends to do a lot of night shifts doing physical labor since there’s a lack of human interaction.
He volunteered for the Synth Knight program in Ezry hoping the alterations would give him a better understanding of magic, and erase his fears. He was wrong and instead gained access to magic that suppresses all fear, worry, doubt. In his ‘dread’ form he exudes a magical aura, and a cruelty and confidence he normally lacks.
He’s stuck as a D-Rank Knight due to his difficulty working with people whether he’s afraid or in his dread form. He’s a very capable fighter handicapped by his own fears and paranoia.

Vinny is normally a wallflower, so I like the idea of his charisma modifier being -4 and changing to +4 when he’s suppressing his fear through magic.

guy i invented. bc i’m not really using this for anything but fun i thought it’d probably be fine to go off of ideas i liked from the pre-season episodes with my thought process; they’re a graduate of a very ritzy conservatory for music with zero work ethic or life skills who was having a bit of trouble getting employed in Ezry, and being from a respectable family in Asmodea who trained him in combat from birth figured he would make a good synth knight and make some money while doing it but unfortunately, it all went horribly wrong…
he’s too volatile and also too incompetent to ever make it past D but is genuinely physically powerful, so mothership basically sics him on people they don’t want to be publicly associated with. he spends all the rest of his time brooding and feeling sorry for himself in the disused sub-basement of the ezry opera house. thinking very Byronic with delusions of classiness, sort of a resident evil tyrant who acts more like Frankenstein’s monster/the Phantom of the Opera, with the “cyberpunk biohorror hitman getting blackmailed by the corporation that ruined his life” energy of Nathan Wallace from Repo. and they are a DRAMA QUEEN
