Bespoke test: unbutton your jacket. If the front quarters go backwards (like they tend to do in my case), the plumb is wrong. In the Neapolitan tailoring jargon, a jacket with this “flaw” is called “ittat e quart”, which roughly translates this condition. However, if your jacket’s plumb is wrong, don’t panic: 99% of the people in the world will never ever notice it ;)

Nel gergo sartoriale napoletano, una giacca con questo genere di “difetto” è detta “ittat ‘e quart”, letteralmente “giacca dai quarti anteriori che tendono eccessivamente verso il retro”. Ad ogni modo, se la vostra giacca si trova in questa condizione, non andate in panico: il 99% delle persone non se ne accorgerà mai ;)
