What does it mean to be neighborly or welcoming to you? Is it chatting with the neighbor as you garden or mow the lawn? Is it just saying hello as you walk by? Does being welcoming mean inviting people over for dinner? Or is it something deeper?
My next door neighbor
CHAPTER 3
1. I gave my neighbor 12 sweet potato plants
2. We planted in close proximity our pecan trees, pollination purposes
3. She trimmed more bushes and trees, so I got more organic matter for my raised beds.
4. She has a sick tree with some fungus growth. She’s worried that will affect my cherry and plum trees. I assured her that is part of nature. I usually take the trees but this one she will be taking to the waste center.
5. She found some grape vines growing on another side of her property but wanted to make sure she was right. Walked over, looks like she has some well established vines with grapes already forming.
6. It’s cute to hear her 2 year old call my name through the fence
7. Her other neighbor is interested in gardening but is a bit hesitant, we offered to help her start a small veggie bed. So we will see
It’s been a busy few days getting our gardens ready for the summer. I felt a bit scientific explaining her our Sun schedule and what works where. We also ordered a few more fruit trees. Starting to get a farmers tan

My next door neighbor
CHAPTER 1:
Few weeks ago she talked to me about wanting to learn and get together about gardening. So we did. I gave her over 12 gardening books for her to keep and expand her knowledge. So far…
1. She bought few fruit trees that mine can help pollinate.
2. We both bought a different pecan tree that will pollinate each other.
3. She cut down 2 trees, I took them for my raised beds and gave her 4x4s for her to enclose her vegetable patch.
4. I’m planting more blackberries and grapes near the fence line so she can harvest. She gave me elderberry starts.
5. She gave me cardboard, I gave her bird netting.
With everything going on in the world she’s worried about how costly food is getting.
