Went on a nice little walk in the Balcones district park today.

- What I assume is a Golf Coast Toad toadlet (Incilius nebulifer)
- A spring laying down some sick beats on a maidenhair fern
- A very upset Redstripe Ribbon Snake (Thamnophis proximus rubrilineatus)
- A bun. Looked like he might have been looking for some salt or minerals on the clay that was dried on the rock from the last time it was flooded.
- An unmarked trail. Lots of these in this park.
- Juvenile Plain-bellied Water Snake (Nerodia erythrogaster). The water snakes are fond of this area because this creek bed floods and dries intermittently, leaving shrinking pools behind with trapped fish that make easy prey, mostly sunfish and bluegill from what I can tell.
- A crappy video of the biggest crawfish I’ve ever seen. You can’t really tell from the video but including his claws he was about the length of my hand and fingers together. I picked him up and moved him across the trail in the direction he was going next to some water.
