I’ve never needed anyone,
And I’m not about
To start with you.
I’m used to walking
Streets alone,
Middles of streets alone,
But it’d sure be nice
To have you there,
To hold your hand
And know you are near.
Don’t you remember?
I haven’t forgotten.
On top of the world,
Building empires together,
The stars above twisting
In their endless cycle;
I’m learning to feel
That kind of alive again.
I’ve never needed anyone,
And I’m not about
To start with you,
But I can’t lie
To myself,
To anyone
Except for you;
I miss you.
But I’m not
Waiting around
For you.
