I’m Lina ^^ I’ve been on tumblr for several years now (following from @lucenoire). But this is my first time venturing into the writeblr realm. I recently moved to the U.S. and took up a new job as a technical writer (previously was a financial analyst). And along with some other factors/big life changes, it’s sparked me to get back into more creative/literary writing again.
I’m looking forward to meeting and supporting other writers – as well as making some new friends and (finally!) making progress on my writing projects.

— a little bit about my writing
If I listed my favorite authors, it’d be a dead giveaway of where I’m originally from. (I have to keep some mystery alive here.) But I mostly enjoy crime/mystery thrillers and psychological horror novels, with the occasional fantasy one thrown into the mix.
I’m also influenced by my heavy tv watching. Lots of crime/horror thrillers and medical dramas, with the occasional contemporary romance show. Not a huge fan of movies and animations. Not sure why, but I’m more picky with them over anything else.
Overall, I mostly dabble in na contemporary, fantasy, horror, and dystopia – although I’m not entirely married to any single genre and might branch out and try my hand at others in the future. Process-wise, there’s a ton of writing out of order in this household because I tend to outline and write simultaneously on whatever resonates with me first.

I am currently outlining one wip, don’t shoot the messenger, which follows delivery person Mars as they begin to get visions of a void filled with stars: a void that whispers back. nothing to worry about, right?
it features a soft post-apocalyptic setting, an lgbtq+ cast, eldritch weirdness, and a cat. I’m gonna write a proper wip intro for it later, so keep your eyes peeled for that !!

I’ve actually made an introduction post a while ago, but deleted it after a while, meaning this is technically a reintroduction, so–
I’m kry (she/her but i don’t mind any),a am a young writer in high school and forever tired. I am Vietnamese Australian and an oriental culture nerd that is learning two languages: Japanese and Viet (tbh man I suck at it). I’m an INFP-T, and a ravenclaw. Horror, sci-fi and action are my favourite genres, but I still enjoy the more lighthearted stuff.
I mainly write supernatural/paranormal, action, horror, sci fi, fantasy, and (i guess??) slice of life. On this blog I’ll be reblogging/posting writing tips and resources; positivity, aesthetic stuff, and some snippets of my main WIP.
My main WIP is arcana: a multiple-work series probably lasting 4-5 books. It is supernatural, slight-drama, sci-fi; has colour-coded characters, and some action and horror sprinkled in. It’s still in planning/drafting stage where I change story beats every two weeks or so. It’s getting more and more solid though, so I’ll probably be getting the rough draft written up after a few months or so.
My side WIP is KNOX. This is going to be a stand-alone work and is about a teen with daddy issues but his dad is satan and he’s a Reaper that kills sinners for him. It’s gonna be a side WIP I’m barely going to write but the premise is interesting enough for me to keep it in my notes app.

About Me
I’m 21
Proud resident of the Great North (aka Canada, home of maple syrup and winters that seem to last forever)
Currently in my third year of social sciences degree and will be (hopefully?) graduating next year. Main areas of focus are sociology, psychology and history with a heavy preference towards psychology and history
I have been writing since I was in the sixth grade
Currently heavily focused on my fanfiction WIPs, though I’m kind of making progress on my adult urban fantasy WIP set in Canada following four people of different backgrounds as the supernatural and non-supernatural worlds basically end up colliding.
Genres I like: fantasy, crime/mystery (Bones and Castle were my jam) and I am always down for romance
I do also own an sketchbook and have been slowly filling up the pages
Also very much a gamer, with my interests leaning towards the Sims and Cities Skylines though I have played Halo, Tomb Raider, Pokemon and Story of Seasons among others.

I started this because I thought it was time given that I constantly look to Tumblr for writing inspiration. My favourite genres to read are sci-fi, fantsy and mystery. I mainly write fanfiction currently but do have a fantasy story going on behind the scenes. I’m still 51% to 49% on opening up about this, especially as a private person. My Secret Service story
Nonetheless, I’ve decided to share my story. So why do I hesitate? Through the expression, you come to know the expressor. This story is my heart opening, and in short, that can be difficult.
After estrangement from my parents, I worked on writing out this story everyday. I have actively tried to resolve situations in my own life through prose, casting “magic” on problems and struggles to bring this miraculous inner world into being.
My characters have been with me for a long time, and have helped me navigate highs and lows in life. They are right by my side as I think about how to handle a life situation, which makes them exceptionally well-developed. Let’s hope I can do them justice in writing.
I’d use the happiness, the sadness I felt as catalysts to weave my being into my story. Either that, or I’d try to scribble some art out on Twitch, with my viewers who mean so much to me (please look forward to some short manga-style comics too). Through my toil, I hope to show who my characters are to their fullest, and will do my best to do my world justice.
