One thing I feel I should keep in mind while writing The Old Guard fanfic: most of the things we think of as “modern” were conceived during the 1800s. Yes, even computers. the biggest difference between then and now is the build, convenience, and distribution.

this takes the whole “Booker became immortal in the 1800s so we’re going to make him do all the shit” thing make much more sense.

Like, the difference between the early 1000s and the 1800s is remarkable? Imagine Booker trying to explain a microwave to Nicky and Joe, while Andy is drunk and yelling “STICK THIS RAW EGG IN THERE”

I’ve been thinking about The Old Guard lately and I wonder what it was like for Andy, Joe and Nicky to dream about this guy hanging and dying over and over and over again. Did they feel him die the same way he felt Nile’s death?
