So@bonerpunskeeps writing this amazing fanfic and I’m dying of delight, so I simply had to pay homage to this scene. I didn’t sleep until it was half-done. (Papyrus faces are hard to draw dammit!)

Character Lineup for @bonerpuns Starry Eyed!! It updated last month and just hooked me by the heartstrings and shook me up and down until art fell out. This started out as a reference sheet for another project I’m working on and as usual I went way too hard and had a great time. I really wanted to push the difference between the nature and nurture of these designs.
I love the concept of soulmates and political subterfuge and kidnapping!! It is so tasty I look forward every single day I check my bookmarks on a03 to see if there are new chapters.

So going into this I had a vision in mind of like Soviet Cold War propaganda outfits in stuff because this whole setting is kind of like that fear and espionage pushed to the max and maybe I was too fascinated by propaganda art in my art history courses to pass up the chance to get to use that inspiration anywhere.
Nothing too exciting with the development here, it was pretty straight forward.
Bonus Red in a helmet that I felt was a little too similar to keep in the final.
I actually did Stretch first and Sans last? Stretch was really fun to design all the little tools and stuff.
Here are some examples of the color correcting I did as a final step, and it really pulled the designs together into this rad spaceship adventure.
