Japan’s national anthem, Kimi Ga Yo (君が代), is the world’s oldest anthem. Its lyrics are based on a Waka poem written in the Heian period (794-1185), sung to a melody written in the later Meiji period.

Lyrics:
May your reign
Continue for a thousand, eight thousand generations,
Until the pebbles
Grow into boulders
Lush with moss

The word that seemed the most sincere to me was not able to express my feelingsAuthor: Irakli Kakaba

The word that seemed
the most sincere to me
was not able to express
my feelings
