“Watch out for wild monkeys!

Please:

  • do not take pictures
  • do not feed the monkeys
  • do not make eye contact
  • do not show food

If they approach, pick up rocks and pretend to throw at them.”

They should probably stress the ‘pretend to throw’ part at the end. Also, as someone who’s been chased by monkeys, the 'do not make eye contact’ point is very good advice.

Pay attention when you’re using your phone. You might trip down the stairs or get your foot caught by the train. Especially good advice while in Akihabara, Tokyo’s electronics district.
