I really hate the rhetoric of people saying “it’s not men that do that, it’s boys”. If a man abuses someone, they’re called a boy, like they lost their “man card” for doing something heinous. This doesn’t break them down because you took their “man card”, all it does is inadvertently say “men can do no wrong”.
Mencan do wrong. Men do wrong a lot. You aren’t breaking an abusers ego by calling them a boy; you’re invalidating the victim by saying that an entire demographic is incapable of wrongdoing, even though the victim was wronged by that demographic.
Stop making comments like “men don’t do that, only boys do that” or “real men respect women, only boys cause harm”.
One day I’ll come back to this account I swear. I haven’t had photoshop in years but I should be able to do what I used to with CSP so I might as well make another one of these or two at some point.

Sorry for the long leave of absence folks, I’m afraid I’m not really going to be able to remedy it for a small period of time! I’m without internet right now (and will be until we have enough money to get internet set up), but I do genuinely want to come back to this blog, I promise!

Do you guys realize how much effort goes into making these? Do you realize this is a blog that has literal sweat and tears and aching bones holding it up? A single board WITHOUT a window or gif affect takes an hour to put together and color balance. That’s an hour of being hunched over a laptop with scoliosis and possible arthritis. With anxiety and depression and existential exhaustion.
There’s a reason I haven’t been posting here so much: I want to give you guys everything I can. If I’m going to put a gif in an aesthetic, I want it to be stitched well. I want it to fit and be color balanced too. That takes another hour because I’m new at gifs and have shaky hands. If I’m going to do a lyricboard I want to do as much of the song as I possibly can because you guys like the carefully thought out long lyricboards: The Last Lost Continent and Bohemian Rhapsody both took an entire day to get them how I wanted them. That was an entire day of my time I gave up for a hobby each time.
And maybe that doesn’t sound like much but I’m mentally ill and very poor and this isn’t something that I really have time to do but I’m doing it anyway because I love it, I love doing art. But I don’t love doing art when I spend two hours on an image that someone looks at for five seconds and deletes my caption off of. My captions are a link back to me. I don’t watermark because I know it looks ugly to a lot of people, I don’t add my url to my images or put the caption in as an image for the same reason, so my captions are the ONLY credit I have for those images.
I know you might not like the lyrics I choose or whatever, but PLEASE if it’s that much of an issue of lyrics please message me about it and I’ll change the original post because I’d prefer to modify it into something you’d want on your blog and still have the caption than you completely take away any credit I had for hours of work I did. Please understand that.
These aesthetics aren’t a few minutes of fucking around on befunky. I make all my own templates, balance colors and values meticulously, and often add gifs, fade effects, make my own color splashes, and regularly do aesthetics that hit photoset limit at 10 images long. Each image takes me at minimum an hour and I often let them sit and come back to them for review to see if anything seems ‘off’. This is an artform, and the fact that no one respects that is so fucking disheartening.
Every time someone deletes a caption I wonder why I’m still doing this. I wonder why I bother. And I get a little closer to packing up and going home.
I feel like my Thing as an edit maker has become really long lyric edits that have fading/gradient colors.
