Last year, we launched a blog to celebrate the overwhelmingly high likelihood of folks on Tumblr identifying as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our intentions were good, but some of you were upset by our use of a term that you aren’t comfortable with. We heard you loud and clear.
This is a do-over. It’s a do-better.
We’re not just slapping a new name and logo on an old blog. Still run by the same LGBTQIA+-identifying folks who’ve been here all along, we’ll continue to reblog all your gorgeous (fan)art, memes, and hot takes to this blog, while introducing you to some of the creatives who make up our community here on Tumblr. We’ll also be running a little pride month prompt series for you, starting next week, and will soon be giving you the opportunity to ask questions of LGBTQIA+ folks far and wide, from the media to advocacy groups (more about that here).
So. Come on in, get your comfies on, and let’s celebrate our community. Get in touch and tell us what you’d like to see, or send us stuff you want to share with your community. This is your space. All year round. Not just in June.

Hello there, LGBTQIA+ Tumblr. Look, June is a nice enough month; it’s got all the flowers and bees and stuff. But it also means that you, like the person writing this, will soon be steeped in unholy amounts of rainbow-cloaked late-stage capitalism. That’s not what this is.
Whatisthis, then? Well, it’s us inviting you to celebrate your pride on Tumblr, and this year, we’re joining in. Each week, we’ll be honoring a different spectrum of LGBTQIA+ identities and sexualities that make up this glorious hellsite in our Pride+ blog header, with two prompts going out every Monday. We want to give everyone the chance to join in and feel seen, always. So these prompts are for everyone, whether you identify with the week’s theme or not!
You can join in and tag your posts #not just in june, or you can join in and not use that tag, or you can not join in and simply lurk in the #not just in june tag and enjoy the festivities that way. We’ll be using that tag for our own responses, too, so you can also learn a little bit more about the LGBTQIA+ folks behind the hellsite. We’ll also be reblogging some of the best posts here on Pride+, so please feel free to use your tags wisely if you don’t want us to feature you.
This is a totally optional, hopefully fun, five weeks of prompts that you can dip in and out of. It’s an invitation to celebrate all your exquisite sides—the creative, the funny, the shitposty—with your community. We cordially invite you to go wild and have fun with this. Not just in June.
