#not just leather and latex

To consider ‘Fetishwear’ to be solely down to leather and latex seems a little… pedestrian, to me. It’s thinking without imagination or creativity. It’s just taking things as they are.

Fetish isn’t an objective thing. It’s entirely down to the person with the fetish. It’s about paying undue attention and care to something that should be simple. It’s to eroticise something that has no right, within a vanilla setting, to be eroticised. It’s attributing a purpose separate from a thing to that thing, and finding satisfaction in that.

It’s about spending five minutes sliding a stocking up your leg, because the way the nylon rubs against your skin sends tingles down your spine.

It’s about not being satisfied with the way your shirt hides your middrift, and spending an hour pulling the hem up a few inches with a needle and thread.

It’s about having an obscenely large amount of knickers, despite the fact that you’re single and have no intention of letting anyone see them.

It’s about finding the erotica in your wardrobe, when everyone else just sees… clothes.

That’s fetishwear, to me.
