chapter 1: interview one, goodsprings
“-Oh! Almost forgot to tell you, when Victor brought you in here, you were as good as dead, pretty sure you were dead so I gave you an autopsy—that pain in your chest you might be feeling? Yeah, that’s what it is, got it stitched up as soon as I realized you were breathing again. Sorry about that.”
“You know,” Taisiya sighs, the camera facing her as she sat in the interview chair, “I’m just really confused honestly.”
And her unblinking eyes stared up into the endless night sky, the Khans dragged her body into the grave, and Benny put out his last cigarette on her back; a final goodbye.
When Taisiya, widow of the world left behind her, is shot in the head and manages to survive, (albeit with only few memories), and the world laid before her of gamblers of more than one kind, empty tombs and remnants of the old world wherever you look—all eyes are on her, and she hasn’t exactly got stage fright.
But what’s a girl to do when her past comes creeping up behind her?
