NPR turns 50 this year, so we’re celebrating some of the movies, music and books from the year of our birth, 1971 – like Dr. Seuss’s sadly prophetic The Lorax, which is even more prescient now in the wake of the recent U.N. climate report.
Our own Elizabeth Blair talked to scientists, environmentalists and educators about the book’s legacy – people like Mark Gozonsky, a writer and high school English teacher in Los Angeles whose students have analyzedThe Lorax in the context of global warming. “He kind of says ‘I told you so,’ like, I told you this was going to be bad and now it’s bad,” Gozonsky says. “The book ends on a question mark … 'Well, what are you going to do about it?’ And that’s the very question mark that we land on today.”
I came across screenshots of Aurora (from Sleeping Beauty) and thought it would be fun to redraw them with her. I also tried to come up with a cool dress for her here ( although in my personal headcanon, she would wear trousers) and a hair bun one here for a reason, and it makes its own sense
Oh Hey, I realized that I didn’t really draw full art with him. Here as like two options color of ( + a cool glow in the eyes (ಥ‿ಥ), first sketch and a page with other sketches (once-ler, fem once-ler , fem ted and male audrey with original audrey lol idk what’s going on with my imagination ) in complete with barbaloot. I didn’t want their post separately, so’ll pin this to art. I feel really fine to draw these guys, so i guess, in the near future, they will appear here more
