Finished Not So Nice Guy by @authorrsgrey today and am DYING over how overwhelmingly happy and adorable this story is! It’s one of my favourite romantic tropes ever (best friends to lovers) and it’s executed flawlessly by Grey . Only a few more days to wait and then I HIGHLY recommend you one click and preorder Not So Nice Guy! .

Two new reads courtesy of @berkleypub and @reesesbookclubxhellosunshine .

Next Year in Havana by @chanelcleeton was the July pick for #reesesbookclubxhellosunshine and The Proposal by @jasminepics is a new romantic comedy coming out in September! I read and loved Next Year In Havana back when it came out in February and loved this story of family history and secrets.

The Proposal sounds SO cute “when someone asks you to spend your lifetime with him, it shouldn’t come as a surprise- or happen in front of forty-five thousand people” .

This weekend I finished reading You, Me, Everything by Catherine Isaac. It was a sweet story about Jess and her ten year old son William setting off to spend the summer at the French chateau that Jess’s ex- and William’s father- owns. It’s a chance for William to finally connect with his father, despite his reluctance to give up his lifestyle just because his son is visiting.

The story was cute, but I never felt fully immersed in it. The characters weren’t written with much depth, which was so disappointing, because this story had so much potential for me. Set in the French countryside, with past lovers reconnecting? Right up my alley! I wouldn’t be the first to recommend You, Me, Everything, but I do think it has potential for other readers. Just not my cup of tea.

Do you have books like that? I’m not against it, but I didn’t love it kind of reads.

My first week at the new job is done and dusted and I’m feeling very excited for things to come. My commute to Edinburgh and back to Glasgow everyday is a bit rough but well worth it for the reading I get done on the train for this weekend, I have grand plans of catching up on sleep, cleaning the flat, and finishing up my current read.

Fight or Flight by @authorsamanthayoung is her newest release and guys, it might be (it for sure is) my new favourite! If you’re a romance fan, I can’t recommend her books enough! The last 3 books of hers I’ve read (Play On, As Dust Dances and Fight or Flight) have all been amazing. Added bonus, she’s Scottish so most of her books are set in Scotland or feature Scottish characters! Fight or Flight comes out October 9th from @berkleypub! .
