Common Pacifier Myths

Hey kids! A very, very long time ago I made a post on common paci myths! I had completely forgotten about it until recently and honestly, the formatting sucked. I decided to update and remake the post so that you all have the best information possible and I can see how I have grown as a content creator! So let’s get into it, common pacifier myths part two!

(If you’d like to see the original post, you can find it here, but remember the information may not be totally up to date!)

TW K!nk and s*x mentions

“Pacifiers will damage your teeth or make them crooked”

While this may be true for young children, this is not true for adults and teenagers! When children are young and their jaw and teeth are still growing and developing, pacifiers may change the angle at which their teeth come in. This is because the baby teeth are soft and easily malleable

Once your adult teeth have all fully come in, it is very hard to change their position. Because of this, a pacifier will not mess them up or damage them! Neither an adult pacifier nor a baby one will make them crooked. However, if you know your teeth are soft or loose, have a dental condition that affects malleability, or your dentist has advised against it then a pacifier may not be the best option!

I will say that baby pacifiers can make your mouth and teeth sore after a bit. If you have sensitive teeth or have a naturally tight bite on your paci you might want to consider an adult sized pacifier! They better fit your mouth and can relieve some of the soreness associated with baby pacifiers.

“If you don’t use a pacifier you’re not a valid regressor

First of all, there’s no such thing as an invalid regressor. There is no “right” way to regress, everyone experiences their regression differently and we have no business saying who is doing it right and who is doing it wrong.

Some regressors are bigger kids or teenagers, some regressors can’t afford a pacifier or have nowhere safe to put it, some regressors have sensory issues and can’t handle anything being in their mouths, pacifiers hurt some regressors mouth, and some regressors just don’t want one!

A pacifier is not essential to being a regressor, all regressors are valid!

“Pacifiers are k!nk items!”

I’m disappointed that I have to explain why this is wrong. Pacifiers have many uses, just because some people use them in k!nk doesn’t mean it belongs to the k!nk community. No one community can claim ownership of the pacifier and it’s uses. A pacifier is nothing more than a piece of plastic and rubber that goes in the mouth. There is nothing sexual about this.

Some people use fruit in an erotic context. This does not mean that eating or having fruit is a sexual act.

There is nothing sexual about pacifiers. I don’t know how else to explain this.
