Out of Love by Hazel Hayes! It’s not available where I live so I had to order it from the UK & it should be coming anyy day now.

Borrowed:
I borrowed Circe by Madeline Miller, Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo and Ariadne by Jennifer Saint at my most recent trip to the library! 

Was Gifted:
At my request my mum got me Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World for Christmas :)

Gave/lent to someone else:
When I was trying to make my book collection a liiiiittle smaller I gave some books to my friend. I think they were Reawakened by Colleen Houck and Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler. 

And when I moved out of the dorms I lent one of my friends a few books so I didn’t have to carry them back home haha. Those were The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders and The End of the Ocean by Maja Lunde.

Started:
I recently started the audiobook for Midnight Library by Matt Haig. 

Finished:
Circe by Madeline Miller!

Gave 5 stars:
This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. It was kinda confusing but I did not care in the slightest ahah. It was just very romantic and poetic and the aesthetic was *chefs kiss*

Gave 2 stars:
Technically I gave Serendipity by Marissa Meyer 2 stars but I since changed it to 1 ahah woops so the most recent 2 stars would be Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman. Which is sad because I love pretty much all of Alice’s content!! And I’ve read the Nick and Charlie novella probably 3 or 4 times before and I rated it 5 stars then??? Clearly shows there’s a big taste change between me at age 16 and me now haha. I still love Nick and Charlie and am sooo excited for the HeartstopperTV show though! 

Didn’t finish:
The Penultimate Peril by Lemony Snicket. I was so close to finishing that series but still haven’t quite made it.

One of my favourite things about romantic movies, novels and poetry is they they are simply that: movies, novels and poetry. Tucked away in a turn of a page or the flash of a screen. I love swooning when characters are all like, “All I find myself thinking about, all I find myself being able to breathe for … is you..” But if someone told me that in real life? I would probably tell them to find a hobby!

oh no…I already bought Harry Styles tickets and Wallows tickets…and I’m kinda tempted to see Florence+the MachinewithKing Princess (King Princess!!) headlining..and now THE Daniel Howell will be in NZ. I can’t NOT go see him, it would be like letting down my 13 year old me’s dreams  !!!!!

I think my laptop is calling me out for not editing my script because it’s started to suggest the name “Lily” (my protagonist) as a word I should start my sentences with…not really a subtle hint

one of my coworkers today said she wanted to get back into reading and asked if I had any book recommendations and I was like !!! I have forgotten every single book I have ever read !!

do you ever just open an article or journal for a research paper & see that the font is too small, or that the PDF is a tinyyyy bit blurry or just as any minor aesthetic problem and instantly go nope. nope. I am not going to read that. like it could be the single most helpful piece of research on the planet, but if it is not instantly easily readable and comprehendible my brain will not have it

I think abstracts are the best thing invented In the world, it’s like a scientific article is doing command F for you. Like here is a specific sentence explaining the whole paper and now you do not have to read anything else go go go off and write a whole paragraph based on this one sentence.

why is tumblr for you page showing me celebrity stock photos of Shakira and Selena Gomez?? when- besides now- have I ever uttered their names on this very blog??

life is just a balancing act of trying not to worry about everyone else but also caring deeply about people at the same time, huh?

recently I’ve been listening to a lot more audiobooks because I get them free from the library and i love them for my commute, but the one bad thing about audiobook is I don’t get to save quotes I like ! with physical books I fold the corners and ebooks I highlight but audiobooks? am I supposed to commit it to long-term memory??
