Nino Cesarini, a young man famed for his beauty, photographed by Guglielmo Plüschow - possibly the same gloriously sunny day as this better known picture.

A fine photograph of a fine young man, blessed with sublime beauty and dressed to highlight not hide his charms; the breathtakingly lovely Antonio or ‘Nino’ Cesarini. Immortalised in all these gorgeous pictures by Guglielmo Plüschow in Capri, circa 1905.

A glorious portrait of a truly timeless masculine beauty, this arguably most lovely of Guglielmo Plüschow’s graceful models. This image seems a close match to my favourite picture of him (indeed, one of my favourites in this entire collection, quite close to perfection!)

A soft-focus scene from Guglielmo Plüschow, around 1900 - I cannot quite make out what he holds in his hand, but the basket spilling grapes at his side could indicate he poses as Dionysos.

A treasure from Guglielmo Plüschow, a young man of exquisite poise and singularly fine form, seated so delightfully delicately on the sumptuous rich fabrics of satin sheen and soft folds, and framed by prettily dishevelled flowers. His deep dark sun tan with lighter marks and palest chest, leads my mind to wonder what he may do for a living, wearing sometimes shorts and short sleeves, other times clearly no more than a vest. Many of the models were fishermen or farm labourers in their everyday lives, transformed for just a few moments into something sublime; these timeless beauties captured forever for our admiration.

One of Plüschow’s most ravishing male nudes, a young man of great physical beauty throwing himself into his modelling duty wholeheartedly, the taut curve of his back and tilted-up chin suggestive of an almost erotic thrill to be displaying his lovely body so proudly, so unblushing and confident before the camera. The cut branches of almond blossom held aloft, with their shadows falling on the plain white wall, make an already fine photograph all the more pleasing to look upon.

Piper, photographed in Naples c1890, by Guglielmo Plüschow - though not credited, this gorgeous, graceful model may be none other than Vincenzo Galdi - if not he then the resemblance is striking, don’t you think? He even has the same wonderfully untamed spill of loose curls as can be seen in this portrait.

The quite perfect contours of this young man’s beautiful bottom have prompted me to add a new curation tag to my collection of images here; those who admire a fine derrière can find them all here, so whether your preference is for pert, plump, or muscular - enjoy.

A stunning portrait of Antonio Cesarini, known to those who loved him (including the painter Jaques d'Adelswärd-Fersen) as Nino, photographed by Guglielmo Plüschow on the terrace of Villa Lysis, Capri. A timeless masculine beauty, made truly everlasting in these bewitching photographs from around 1905 - this is an especially large and lovely copy, do click through for a closer look!
I’ve featured a version of this image before, usually I endeavour to avoid repeats but this time I think you may agree it worthwhile : in my first copy there was some careful editing to preserve his modesty with a deep darkened shadow, here we see the unspoilt original.

Surrounded by the beautiful pale almond blossom which covers the hills around Taormina each year, this 1890s portrait by Guglielmo Plüschow captures an anonymous but admirably handsome young man in captivating detail, from the ruffled mess of untidy curls to the faint smile lines around his expressive deep-set eyes.

An uncommon pose makes for a memorable image by Guglielmo Plüschow; we are occasionally shown a rear view of a lovely plumply curved bum in lovingly photographed detail, but rarely do we see a model seated on the ground, knees tucked, face turned away - it is almost as though he is unaware he is being observed and admired!

A gorgeous photograph by Plüschow, featuring a strikingly handsome model we have seen before, in a garland of flowers, and bearing more blossom in his hands. Flowers appear again here, as a painted motif on the wall behind him, and printed on the fabric pinned at his shoulder. Note also the tabby cat, seemingly quite comfortable lounging across this lap - was this his own friend or owner, or was he simply an amiable stray recruited from the street?
