LIVE

Leafeon DPdex Entry: Just like a plant, it uses photosynthesis. As a result, it is always enveloped in clear air.

Glaceon DPdex Entry: As a protective technique, it can completely freeze its fur to make its hairs stand like needles.

Thanks as always to serebii.net for the dex entires!

Electivire DPdex entry: It pushes the tips of its two tails against the foe, then lets loose with over 20,000 volts of power.

Magmortar DPdex entry: It blasts fireballs of over 3,600 degrees F from the ends of its arms. It lives in volcanic craters.

Probopass DPdex entry: It exudes strong magnetism from all over. It controls three small units called Mini-Noses.

Dusknoir DPdex entry: The antenna on its head captures radio waves from the world of spirits that command it to take people there.

Thanks to serebii.net for the dex entries and thanks to everyone who came to the stream to see these pixeled live. New Diamond and Pearl mons every Wednesday on twitch.tv/lagiasapphire

My takeaways from today’s direct

On Gen 4 remakes

  • I’m really looking forward to the new revamped underground. I like that they kept its core gameplay, while adding a lot to it.
  • While I completely understand why they had to go with the style they did, I’m still a little iffy on the overworld design. I think I would have preferred it if they went the route they did with the gen 3 remakes. But then people would probably still complain…
  • While customization is a bit limited, what we do have looks pretty good, and honestly far more than I was expecting (which was nothing)
  • VERY hyped about ball capsules returning. Honestly they should never have been a One-and-done feature, they should be in every game. Although with Nintendo’s current handling of internet culture, you can bet your ass Letter capsules will not be in the game. For those who don’t remember, you could purchase individual letter stickers for the ball capsule which you could arrange to spell out words when your Pokemon was sent into battle.

On Legends: Arceus

  • REALLY digging the new regional forms and evolutions (well except Braviary…). Especially Basculegion. Really looking forward to seeing if there’ll be a blue variant. I’m ALSO looking forward to seeing what Hisuian Arcanine will look like. Its clear they’re doubling down on the fu dog concept, even going as far as to make Hisuian Growlithe part rock type.
  • Its interesting that they’ve chosen to go with a Monster Hunter-esqu approach to their open world game. I’d compare it to the most recent MH game, Monster Hunter Rise, although the areas we will be playing in look a lot bigger than anything in MHR. I’m fine with the decision they made, but honestly a little surprised after seeing what was clearly them experimenting with open world design concepts in the Gen 8 expansions.
Either way; I can’t wait to put my starter on the shelf and run around ancient Sinnoh with a Croagunk!

Tip for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players:

Normally, the “Mystery Gift” function unlocks after you get your third badge. But there’s a way to unlock it earlier:

After you beat the first gym leader and then after you beat your first Team Galactic battle in Jubilife City, the clown will move out of the way of the TV station.

Go inside the TV station up to the third floor and talk to the TV producer with the purple shirt at the bottom. When asked what you like, pick “EVERYBODY HAPPY WI-FI CONNECTION”, and the TV Producer will unlock the Mystery Gift function for you.

I’m hearing that Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have been “leaked”.

A note, there have been leaks before, in previous generations, and they turned out to not entirely be trustworthy.

For example, in Generation 7, leaks caused us to think that Incineroar would be another Fire/Fighting starter. It actually turned out to be Fire/Dark.

Also, in Generation 7, leaks caused us to think that Lillie was secretly an Ultra Beast in disguise. She actually turned out to be a normal human being.

Meanwhile in Generation 8, leaks caused us to think Cinderace would be another Fire/Fighting starter. It actually turned out to be pure Fire.

Plus in Generation 8, leaks caused us to think Charizard was the only Gen 1 starter we’d have access to; it turned out we got the Venusaur and Blastoise lines as well.

So as a reminder, leaks are not entirely trustworthy. They’ve led us to erroneous conclusions before.

So Serebii has just released a news update about the upcoming Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl, and this news was itself taken from Vooks and Nintendo World Report: it looks like the Experience Share is back for all Pokemon, and cannot be turned off, like in Sword and Shield.

Some people love the Exp Share, and some people hate it.

In my case, I personally love it and am relieved, because due to my job I end up playing Pokemon and other videogames casually when I come home from work.

So I’m relieved at the Exp Share coming back, because that means I don’t have to spend as much time “grinding” and can enjoy the game more casually (I’m planning to get the Brilliant Diamond version).

So now that we got some more pre-release screenshots at the end of September, I’m going to compile a list of Pokemon that, so far, we know for CERTAIN will be in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl.

Here’s the list I’ve compiled, with some help from going to Serebii.net and looking at their screenshots (the Serebii website says that the entire Sinnoh Pokedex will appear, but for now I’m just putting Pokemon we’ve seen in trailers and screenshots so we know for SURE they’re back):

–Torterra line

–Infernape line

–Empoleon line

–Beautifly line

–Dustox line

–Crobat line (only Zubat appeared in the trailer, but I’m reasonably sure the happiness-evolution Crobat will be back as well since it’s 2nd-gen)

–Luxray line

–Lucario line

–Gardevoir and Gallade line (admittedly only Gallade appeared in a Youtube trailer, but if Gallade is back I’m pretty sure Gardevoir is too, since they both evolve from Kirlia)

–Bidoof line

–Manaphy (available through Internet by Mystery Gift until February 21st, 2022)

–Raichu line

–Staraptor line

–Rampardos line

–Bastiodon line

–Cherrim line

–Abomasnow line

–Eeveelutions (I only saw Glaceon in the trailer briefly attacking a Snover, but if Glaceon is returning I think the other Eeveelutions will return as well)

–Floatzel line

–Dialga and Palkia

–Drifblim line

–Lumineon line

–Vespiquen line

–Blissey line

–Roserade line

–Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf

Since Pokemon has just announced Sinnoh remakes Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, I want to compile something:
