Sorry for formatting, hit the daily limit again. I may be forgetting something, but I wonder if we’ve seen Kiawe using Marowak to pull off the Inferno Overdrive Z-Move before. It normally feels like we see him using Turtonator.

Honestly had a few tears well up during this scene. The Sun and Moon series is so good for emotional moments and I love that Journeys gives Alola the same amount of heart and love. Seeing Ash recognized as Champion, and hearing their support for him, makes me so happy as a Pokémon fan.
I was just rewatching the episode and I just noticed it sounds like Lillie the Nihilego is saying “Lillie.”
With Tapu Koko seeing Ash off, Lillie’s family finally restored, everyone calling Ash Champion, and the battle between Kukui and Ash, it really feels like the true finale to Sun and Moon.
I’ll do more gifs when subs are out, but that’s the end of the episode for now!
And that’s where the battle concluded, but can we just talk about Kukui looking so proud of Ash before he tells Incineroar it’s time to let off their Z-move?

The audience is chanting “Champion!” as this scene plays. (Also, they reused the Sun and Moon animation. The entire battle so far as been pretty eh, animation-wise, but I guess they’re saving budget for the Masters 8 battles.)
Poor Lillie was the first to get taken out this battle.
Hau and Team Skull came to watch the battle! I was kind of expecting Faba and Wicke, but these cameos were a surprise!
Also, I like them giving Faba and Wicke a pretty decent-sized role this episode as the announcers! There’s also Faba blushing when he sees Kukui, tho it’s probably hard to spot. (And Lillie stating Nihilego is new family when her class reacts with shock at seeing it, and hearing its nickname.):

Finally, Hop is here! The poor dude didn’t even get an introductory episode like Hau did. Still no shot of Mairin tho either. Ash with his Mega Glove, his Z-Ring, and his Dynamax Band! And Cynthia applying her lipstick before having Garchomp attack.

Edit, I originally put this together at nearly 2am last night, so I was a bit brain-mushed, but I just realized Cynthia is using a Mega Garchomp. This is the first time we’ve seen her have a Mega in the anime, so that’s pretty cool..
